“Archiving the wild, one story at a time.”
More than a print subscription — it’s a journey
Wild Earth Archives: Field Edition is a living archive of discovery, delivered to your mailbox each month. You’ll follow a species, habitat, or frontline project through a carefully told story, illustrated by a new independent artist’s collectible artwork.
“Every issue feels like opening a field-station dispatch: places most people never hear about, projects quietly changing the future of nature, and species that quietly hold the whole system together.”
You’re not just a subscriber — you’re part of the expedition.
How each monthly issue is designed
Each Field Edition includes:
- A new independent artist each month Every issue features a different independent artist creating the 4×6-inch print, so each Field Edition supports living, working artists while you build a diverse collection.
- One 4×6-inch collectible print A signed or credited artwork based on a species, ecosystem, or conservation story. Sized to fit a standard picture frame so you can proudly display it on a mantle, bookshelf, or classroom wall.
- A story of the place A narrative-style dispatch that explains why this location and species matter, what’s at stake, and how people are working to protect them.
- Conservation initiative spotlight A clear snapshot of the project or group being supported this month: goals, location, needs, and impact.
- Interactive element A “field-ticket,” mini-map, or checklist that invites you (or your family) to engage with the story — even if you’re never physically in the field.
- Impact note A brief explanation of where 10% of your subscription is going and how it helps that month’s initiative.
Everything is designed to feel like touring a quiet museum exhibit, field station, or conservation archive — one issue at a time.
Why this journey matters right now
Most conservation stories never make headlines. Critical species, habitats, and grassroots efforts go unheard because they’re too remote, too “technical,” or too quiet. Wild Earth Archives exists to pull these stories into the light.
By joining this subscription, you:
- ✓ Help overlooked species and ecosystems get the attention they deserve.
- ✓ Support real conservation work through 10% of every subscription donated to that month’s group or initiative.
- ✓ Support independent artists whose work brings these stories to life.
- ✓ Give kids, families, and educators a story-based way to learn why conservation matters — without feeling like homework.
- ✓ Build a meaningful art collection that celebrates the wild, not just the famous.
You’re not just collecting art. You’re archiving the places and species that need us most — and the people who protect them.
A subscription that educates and inspires kids — and looks beautiful for adults
Wild Earth Archives is designed to spark curiosity and wonder in learners of all ages, while also giving adults a piece of art they’re proud to display.
For the home or classroom
Each issue includes a 4×6-inch collectible print from a new independent artist that fits in a standard picture frame, is perfect for mantles or walls, and is a lasting gift rather than a disposable product.
For young explorers
Each month, kids discover unusual species, learn how they fit into the bigger web of life, and see conservation as an adventure. They get the feeling of being part of the solution, right from home.
Designed for connection:
- A conversation starter at meals or bedtime.
- A “nature-story of the month” for classrooms or homeschool groups.
- A gift that keeps giving new prints and stories all year.
A monthly expedition, not a newsletter
Each issue is structured like a short expedition to guide you through the story:
Departure: Meet the place, species, or mystery.
Discovery: Learn what’s happening and why it matters.
Connection: Explore how this species or ecosystem supports the wider web of life.
Action: Meet the people and projects working to protect it.
Impact: See how 10% of your subscription helps that month’s initiative.
Inspired by the sense of wonder in places like Atlas Obscura, Wild Earth Archives turns ecology into a series of surprising, beautiful discoveries created by independent artists and rooted in real conservation work.
How your subscription makes a difference
Each month, 10% of every subscription is donated to the group or initiative featured in that issue. This portion helps support on-the-ground work like habitat restoration, species monitoring, or community-based conservation projects.
We announce the partner and how the funds are used in the Impact Note included with every Field Edition, so you can see exactly where your support goes and how it helps protect that month’s species or ecosystem.
In addition to supporting conservation, each subscription supports an independent artist whose work brings that month’s story to life — so you’re helping both people protecting nature and people making art that matters.

Start Your SubscriptionFrequently Asked Questions
When will I get my first issue?
Your first issue will ship at the beginning of the month after you subscribe. For example, if you join on the 29th of May, your first issue will ship in early June and be marked as the “June” Field Edition.
Is my first month prorated if I sign up part-way through a month?
No. Each subscription is calendar-month-based, so you always get a full Field Edition for the month you’re charged. If you join on the 29th of May, you’ll be charged for June and receive your first issue in early June.
Are all issues the same?
Each Field Edition is unique. Every month features a new independent artist, a new 4×6-inch print, and a new conservation story and initiative. You can keep all issues, frame them, or gift them.
How are the conservation initiatives chosen?
Each month we spotlight a different group or initiative, share why it matters, and show how 10% of every subscription is donated to support that month’s efforts. This is a direct donation from Wild Earth Archives.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time. If you’re already charged for the next month, you’ll still receive that month’s Field Edition, but billing will stop at the end of that cycle.
Is this a good fit for kids and classrooms?
Yes. Each issue is designed to spark curiosity and wonder in learners of all ages. Kids get an engaging story and a proud-to-display art print, while teachers and parents get a simple, monthly way to talk about conservation and nature.
How are artists selected?
We collaborate with independent artists whose work reflects the species, ecosystems, and stories we’re featuring each month. Each Field Edition intentionally highlights a different voice, so you’ll see a wide range of styles and perspectives over time.
